Are you qualified to clean ovens and kitchen appliances?

Yes. I have undergone specialist training in the United Kingdom and carried out numerous deep-cleans. I am a qualified oven-cleaner and your appliances are in safe hands.

Are you insured to clean ovens and kitchen appliances?

Yes. Ovenproud™ is fully insured to carry out the deep-cleaning of your appliances. In the unlikely event of an accident, and if we cannot find a solution to the issue without making an insurance claim, you will be fully covered.

Can I safely let you into my home?

Yes. I am fully qualified, fully insured and fully registered as a business with Revenue and the Companies Registration Office (CRO). More importantly perhaps, I am also local to Tullamore, Co. Offaly. My family has been operating local businesses in the town since the 1950s. I am the third generation to open a business in the area. With a reputation to uphold and a family of my own to provide for, I pride myself in providing an honest, professional and friendly service. References can be provided on request.

What type of products/chemicals do you use?

We use specially designed bio-degradable and non-caustic cleaning products, specially designed for use within the home.

We strive to be as eco-friendly and environmentally conscious as possible.

Does your process produce toxic smoke or fumes?

No. We do not use caustic or toxic products. As explained above, we use bio-degradable cleaning products, specially designed to be safe for use inside your home. We also ensure that your appliances are thoroughly rinsed and dried, to remove any excess product. However, don’t be surprised if you see one of our technicians wearing a face mask and gloves. It’s a health & safety precaution as they ere exposed to smoke from ovens and detergents on a daily basis.

Do you clean stainless steel?

Yes, we are stainless steel cleaning specialists. We use non-scratch pads and specially formulated stainless-steel cleaning pastes and polishing oils to restore your stainless-steel doors, handles, hobs or extractors to their former glory.

However, it is worth noting that we cannot remove pre-existing scratches from your stainless-steel appliances.

How long does the cleaning take?

This depends on what type of appliance we are called out to clean and what condition the appliance is in. A deep-clean can take anywhere from 1 hour for a small single oven up to 3 hours or more for a large range or stove. Also, when our clients ask us to clean multiple appliances during a single visit (such as an oven. a hob and an extractor), the job can take upwards of 3 hours.

Do you carry spares?

Yes, we carry spare oven bulbs, refrigerator bulbs, extractor bulbs and extractor filters. If we do not have your specific model of bulb or filter with us or if your oven requires a new door seal, we can arrange to order the part for you (payment required in advance).

We can then arrange to call out again to swiftly replace it for you. Alternately, we can have the part delivered directly to you and provide guidance on how to replace it yourself.

Can I use my appliance immediately after your callout?

Yes, in most case our clients can use their appliances as soon as the cleaning is completed. If we are required to reseal a loose oven window with high temperature adhesive, we recommend that you do not use your oven for 24 hours at least. This is to allow the adhesive to properly dry and set.

Will you need to use my sink?

We do not need to use your sink to carry out any of the cleaning. All of the removable parts are taken to our van where they will either be submerged into the tank and left to seep, or briefly dipped in and cleaned (depending on the material the component is made from). We also rinse and dry these parts outside your home.

However, we do need to fill a bucket with fresh water. We use this to soak our cloths and sponges in when we are wiping away residues from your appliance. We also need fresh water to rinse our cloths and sponges at the end of the job. However, we also carry fresh water in our van which we can use if you are not comfortable with us using your sink.

We strive to leave every property in the condition we find it in (a part from the appliances which we have cleaned of course!).

How often should I get my oven cleaned?

The frequency at which you should have your oven cleaned generally depends on how often you use it and how quickly it gets dirty. It also depends on your personal preference and budget. Light oven users (people who use their oven 1-3 times a week) tend to have their oven cleaned once a year. More intensive oven users (people who use their oven more than 3 times a week) tend to require our services more frequently, such as every 6 months for example. If your oven has grease or carbon deposits lodged in between the glass on the oven door, smells bad, smokes profusely, or if the racks, trays or walls are covered in burnt in carbon, it’s probably time to give us a call.

How is professional oven cleaning different to cleaning my oven myself?

Ovenproud™ uses specialist equipment, products and techniques to safely and effectively dissolve and remove grease and carbon deposits. We are also able to reach the areas of the oven which are generally inaccessible for the unacquainted.

For example: we take your oven door off and take it apart, in order to access and clean in between the glass panels. We also remove the backing plate to access and clean the fan.

Whilst you can indeed try to access these parts of the oven yourself, most of our clients feel uncomfortable in doing so. They are often worried they will damage their appliance or will be unable to reassemble the different parts correctly.

Moreover, our specially developed oven-cleaning products – used in conjunction with our van-mounted oven cleaning dip tank – provide unrivalled grime-busting effectiveness.

Whilst oven certain oven cleaning products are readily available in your local DIY store or supermarket, they pack nowhere near the punch of the industrial grade products and tools we use.

There’s a reason why oven cleaning is THE most hated house chore. That’s also why we are here! So, if you want a superior clean and don’t want the hassle of trying to achieve it yourself, give us a call. We will help you restore some pride in your kitchen!

Can self-cleaning ovens still benefit from a professional oven deep-clean?

Yes, self-cleaning ovens can still benefit from professional oven deep-cleaning.

Self-cleaning ovens “clean” themselves by either heating up to a very high temperature (close to 300°C) or by producing intense steam, or a combination of both. This process aims to burn and/or melt away grease and residues. However, this helps remove some of the deposits, but not all. It doesn’t remove the left-over carbon dust either.

Also, the grime which is caught in between the glass panels on the oven door, in behind the back plate or on the outside of the oven for example, are not removed by a self-cleaning oven. These parts of the oven need to be cleaned manually.

Therefore, whilst a self-cleaning oven can somewhat delay the need to call out a professional oven cleaner, it won’t put it off indefinitely. An oven deep-cleaning can definitely help bring back the shine and sparkle to even the most effective self-cleaning ovens.

What is the difference between an oven valet or oven valeting, and your services?

Simply speaking, there is no difference. Oven valeting is just another term used for professional oven cleaning.
